Champions aren’t made only in classrooms . They are made in sports grounds too.  We are aware that games  and sports are  an integral element of present day education. They teach the students qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership and teaches them the most valuable lessons about perseverance, patience in fact what constitutes a perfect character. The Shikshiyan School, Gurugram too believes that Sports are an integral part of academics. Hence, as  the weather getting better and give students a break from hectic academic schedule , the school organised  Spardha -Annual Sports Day -2023 , on 22nd February 2023 amidst great enthusiasm and camaraderie. The students participated in plethora of races where with lot of gusto. From Fun Races to Flat and Relay Races , all were thoroughly enjoyed by the students but it was Skating which stole the show. With the students competing on wheels showed the confidence they have in their skills. The day concluded by presenting Medals to the winners by School Principal Ms Geeta Dagar who appreciated not only the students but wholehearted efforts put by the staff members.

The word ‘Excursion’ is enough to bring smiles to the cherubic faces of the students who want to come out of the four walls of classrooms and run with wind in their hair. With the weather getting pleasant and giving an opportunity to little ones to learn more about “ Bird Kingdom “, the Nursery and Prep students of The Shikshiyan School, Gurugram were taken for the educational cum fun trip to ‘Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary’.The students took a fun stroll in the sanctuary witnessing the immaculate beauty of the various birds, awestruck with the natural environment. This multisensory learning experience was an experience which will be cherished forever by the teachers and students forever!!

“Awareness is the first step in healing.” 

It is a well-known fact that Single-use plastics are serious climate change hazards. The rising usage of single-use plastic and the hazards it is rising at an alarming rate. To sensitize our students at an early age and generate awareness, the students of class V conveyed a message regarding the harmful effects of plastic usage through the “Slogan Writing Competition” organised by The Shikshiyan School, Gurugram. The students through the Slogan Writing Competition not only made vigilant but also motivated them to guide others too to save the environment from the hazards of single-use plastic. The enthusiastic participation gave a sigh of relief to us as educators that we have done our part and can perceive a plastic-free world ahead!!!
