Lohri
“Beautification of Indian culture is their festivals and their celebrations. It shows the diversified culture of India,”
It is rightly said that, the greatness of a culture can be seen in its festival. Among a rainbow of festivals that Indians enjoy in their lives, Makar Sankranti is dedicated to the Sun god, Surya, with blessings for a promising six months ahead. It is also celebrated as Lohri by the Punjabis to mark the commencement of harvest season , Pongal by the Tamilians and Bihu by the Asamese.
To mark the auspicious day, we at The Shikshiyan celebrated various activities on 13th January for the students of Grades 1 to 5. Activities included Letter to God on Kite, Journey of a crop and grain collection, Types of crop and their importance, Matki decoration, Rangoli making and making chart on important 4 days of pongal celebration.
Students participated gleefully to enjoy the festivity of the day.
