Ice cream party

“You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy Ice-cream And that’s almost the same thing”

Summer season can be personified as everyone’s never-ending love for ice-cream. Onset of this season was marked at the Shikshiyan school by celebrating Ice-Cream Day on Friday 29th 2022. Students of Classes Nursery & Prep were served ice-cream in school and were given a chance to top their ice-cream as per the toppings of their choice. The children enjoyed the opportunity to garnish their ice-creams with colorful sprinkles and pour syrup of their choice, to raise the taste quotient of their favourite dessert exponentially. They also got them clicked in ice-cream cone, The day was full of excitement, zeal and everything pertaining to the yummy sugary treat.

    Earth Week Celebrations

    “ Make you the World a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.”

    The Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. It was first celebrated in 1970 and is now coordinated globally by Earth-Day-Network and being celebrated in more then 193 countries each year. In India Ministry of Earth Sciences and its institutes are celebrating Earth Day on 22nd April every year and at The Shikshiyan School we are doing the same to bring the students a little close to Earth and its Environment.

    For this wonderful week there were many activities planned from Nursery-XII. The students had a creative, fun filled time to indulge in the activities and competitions carried out in school and in many competitions we had winners who won flying in colours and they were felicitate for the same.The activities and competitions that were conducted during this week are Bring a Plant ‘Your Friend’, Badge making comp, Crown making Comp, Show & Tell Comp, Bookmark Designing, Folder desighning comp, Poem recitation, Slogan writing Comp,Energy chatterbox Quiz and Energy detective collage making.

      BAISAKHI CELEBRATION

      India is a land of festivals. Festivals occur throughout the year, and every Indian participates with great enthusiasm and brotherhood. Keeping up with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with great fervor and gaiety and to acquaint the students with the rich culture and heritage of India, Baisakhi celebrations were held on April 13th. 2022 Wednesday, at The Shikshiyan School.

       A special assembly was organised to commence the occasion. It began with thanking the almighty for his divine grace. School Coordinator Ms Yogita Nagpal spoke about the importance of the festival and why it is celebrated in Punjab. This was followed by a Baisakhi Song, ?? ?????? ??……………… by the students of class VI . Girls of grades 5 to 7 impressed everyone by their energetic beautiful Gidha performance.

      Number of activities like card making, journey of wheat were also organised to uplift the mood of the students and make them enthusiastic about the festival. To keep the feel of the festival alive Pre school students were dressed in traditional Punjabi attire .

      Assembly was concluded with Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar’s quote: “Life should be great rather than long”.

      Students were urged to be great Human being .

        BAISAKHI CELEBRATION

          First Day at TSS

             The first day of school is a thrilling experience.Moreover, the first day gives us a new perspective on things. The students of *The Shikshiyan School* enjoyed their first day at school with great excitement and enthusiasm. They took part in various fun filled activities like *Welcome card making Activity*,*The Alphabet game*, *Freeze game* ,*Time bomb name game*, *Signature game*, *Blob and lines and entered in their new world of knowledge under the guidance of their loving and caring mentors.

            With this thought The Shikshiyan school conducted a parent orientation program on April 9, 2022 Saturday, for the parents and guardians of the new students who have enrolled for various classes this year with renewed enthusiasm, to discuss various aspects of the student’s schooling.

            Parents were welcomed with the Tilak as per Hindu custom, followed by registration process. Then they were escorted to the Venue on 2nd Floor. After welcome address by School Coordinator Ms Yogita Nagpal, orientation started with Lamp lighting by School principal Ms Geeta Dagar, Vice Principal Ms Preeti Dagar and Ganesh Vandana by Music teacher Mr Sanjay Pathak.

            Ms Yogita Nagpal briefed the parents about the School infrastructure, facilities, rules and regulations of the school. Scholastic and co-scholastic activities were discussed that gave the parents an idea of the curriculum which is self-directed with hands-on learning activities that not only give our students a medium to fully utilize their creative talents and energies, but also help them in their all-round development. . The teachers who are the heart of any education system, were introduced to the parents. Some important parenting tips were also shared with the parents for mental and emotional well being of the students.

            This was followed by words of wisdom by Chairman of the school Mr. Mukul Dagar. Who shared the school history, vision, way of working of School and student’s achievements. Ms Sharmila presented vote of thanks to all the guests. Programme was concluded with National Anthem followed by high tea.

            The orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children.
