World Television Day
Television continues to be the single largest source of video consumption. Though screen sizes have changed, and people create, post, stream and consume content on different platforms, the number of households with television sets around the world continues to rise. The interaction between emerging and traditional forms of broadcasts creates a great opportunity to raise awareness about the important issues facing our communities and our planet.
In the 21st century, what is the purpose of a TV? It's not just a one-way channel for broadcast and cable content anymore. Modern televisions offer a wide range of multimedia and interactive content, such as streaming videos, music, and internet browsing.
Despite the shift in audiovisual content consumption to different platforms and the constantly evolving technology, TV still remains an important communication tool. As the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization reminds us, World Television Day is a celebration of how television has become a symbol of connection and globalization in the 21st century. Television still remains the largest medium of education and entertainment for children.
The Shikshiyan School, Sector 108, Gurugram acknowledged ‘World Television Day’ on 21st November and celebrated the same through a host of engrossing activities.
Students of Class I participated in ‘Miniature of TV’. Students of Class II showcased the ‘Timeline of Television’ through images of TV from 1920-2023. A quiz was conducted for the students of Class III. Students of Class IV put on their creative hats and participated in ‘Collage Making: Importance of TV’
Students of Class V added a flavour of excitement and fun through ‘Show and Tell on Old Version of TV’. Television has proved to be the greatest invention of its time and we commend its ever-expanding advancements in technology and content.

    GOONJ - THE ECHO
“Celebrations infuse life with passion and purpose. They summon the human spirit.”
The Annual Day of a school is undoubtedly an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast and festivity. The entire objective of having an annual day in the school is to create a harmonious connection of parents with the school and their children and let them appreciate and enjoy their child’s talent. On Saturday, November 04,2023, The Shikshiyan School, Gurugram celebrated its Annual Day 2023 with great enthusiasm and zeal. It was woven around the theme “Goonj - The Echo”. The school believes that every child must be given an opportunity to develop talents, showcase their talents, and harness their skills and attributes through such public performances.
This day is an occasion of celebration, where students display their talents through wonderful performances. The audience witnessed the virtues of peace, harmony, and happiness. Education is not just about academics; it's about nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate, creative, and responsible members of society. Our annual function is a celebration of the holistic education we strive to provide.
To give a quick brief of the theme, the event commenced with the lighting of a lamp by our beloved principal ma’am, followed by a Welcome song and dance, Ganesh Vandana and Wing dance. Then there was a play named “Bholi” by the students of Class 10 with a social message. After that “Technology and Education dance” was performed by the students of Class 4. Dances like Bhangra, Garbha, Western Kathak and Retro to Metro dance, by the students provided one with the essence of the confluence of several cultures of our country. The play, “Pied Piper”, took one to a town in Germany, called “Hamelin”, to witness what happens when one denies to keep a promise. Respected Chairman Sir delivered the Annual Report on the school’s glorious Academic, Co-curricular and Sports achievements in the year gone by.
In the end, the show stopper, “Shaurya Gatha”, the heroic ballet, was performed by the students. It took one to a separate subliminal world remembering the sacrifices of our army personnel who protect our country even at the cost of laying their life. The program ended with a vote of thanks and Annual Day (Goonj: The Echo) 2023 was a roaring success.
